Acceptable use policy

Last updated 17 October 2026

Cove is a private home for families and close friends. Privacy is not a licence to hurt people. These rules apply to everyone who uses Cove, including guests who join a call from a link.

1. Never share

  • Child sexual abuse material, or anything that sexualises or exploits children.
  • Content that threatens, harasses or incites violence against anyone.
  • Intimate images of someone without their consent.
  • Content that breaks the law or infringes someone else's rights.

2. Don't misuse the service

  • No spam, scams, or bulk or automated messaging.
  • No attempts to break into accounts, our systems or the encryption.
  • No impersonating people or organisations.
  • No reselling Cove or using it to run a public broadcast service.

3. Reporting

You can leave a chat or Space, or remove someone from one you run, at any time. To report a person or content, write to support@covespaces.my. Because we can't see your content, include what you're reporting (for example a screenshot). In-app reporting, which sends us only the content you choose to report, is coming before launch.

4. What we do

We review reports and may remove reported content, restrict or close accounts, and, where the law requires it, pass reported material to the authorities. We never scan your private content: we only ever act on what is reported to us.
